It's a dark, often frightening noir set in one of the most detailed, hard sci-fi universes ever put on film. It's been awhile since I read it, but in Paul Sammon's book "Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner," he talks about how they recycled props and whatnot. FUTURE NOIR:THE MAKING OF BLADE RUNNER is probably the best. I'm in the middle of reading “Future Noir: the Making of Blade Runner” right now, so this is perfect timing! Yes, the It's unlikely that Scott or any other director would willingly return to the comparatively slow processes it took to achieve the somewhat-dated effects, although those are what make help to make Blade Runner so iconic. But then that's coming from a rabid fan of the film who as coincidence would have it just finally read PK Dick's novel from which it was based, followed by Paul Sammon's “Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner.”. Sammon (Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner) hosts a 30th anniversary celebration of this influential masterpiece. The look of Blade Runner is solidly a 1982 vision of the future. Sammon, the Author of Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner, talks to Alexis about his experiences and observations on set, the many obstacles that came up in production and the true message of the film. Set in 2019, Ridley Scott's sci-fi noir gives us a neon-lit but grungy Los Angeles landscape filled with flying cars, vague Asian influences, and a whole lot of shoulder pads. Goodness, that book is like my bible! Dave Kendricken on 05.5.13 @ 11:11PM. Filmmaker, BR expert, and acclaimed author Paul M.
